School Overview
Ozark Mountain Massage Institute offers a fully accredited massage therapy program designed to prepare students for licensure and successful careers in a variety of clinical and wellness settings. Our 500 hour curriculum combines hands-on learning, theoretical study, and professional development to equip students for the demands of this dynamic field. Ozark Mountain Massage Institute operates in full compliance with the Arkansas Massage Therapy Act, codified under Arkansas Code §17-86-101 et seq. The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) is the regulatory authority overseeing all aspects of massage therapy practice, including school licensure, student enrollment, and practitioner licensing.
Admission Requirements
Applicants to Ozark Mountain Massage Institute must meet the following criteria to be considered for enrollment:
- Be at least 18 years of age by the start of the program.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Complete and submit all required application materials by stated deadlines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English sufficient to understand course material and communicate effectively with clients and instructors.
- Submit documentation of any required immunizations or health screenings as mandated by the school or clinical partners.
- Provide a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Successfully complete a required interview or entrance assessment.
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission; acceptance is based on the completeness of the application and available space in the program.
Application Process
Applicants must complete the following steps to apply for admission:
- Obtain and complete the official application form, available through the admissions office.
- Submit the completed application along with all required supporting documents (transcripts, identification, immunization records/doctors release).
- Participate in a personal interview or orientation session.
- An application/registration fee of $200 is due at the time of application. (This otherwise non-refundable fee is returned if the applicant is not accepted into the program.)
- Receive notification of acceptance or denial in writing.
- Once accepted into the program, students must obtain a Massage Therapy Learning Permit from the Arkansas Department of Health before beginning class. This permit is valid for six months after completion of the program.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early to ensure timely processing and adequate time for financial planning.
